Cut Out The Middle Man

Avoid using an agency where possible and book your act directly. There are some great entertainment agencies out there with a whole range of acts. The advantage of booking via an agency is you get a huge choice but with a little research you can very often find the same acts and book them directly. You will save yourself about 20% by going straight to the Act you wish to book. A bonus of this approach is that you will build a good rapport with your wedding supplier. Here at South Downs Strings we like to look after all our clients but we aim to go the extra mile for clients who book us directly.

Shop Local

The benefits of shopping local are well-known. Not only is it great for the local economy and smaller businesses but it is also a more sustainable option. It's good for you and good for the environment. If you pick a wedding supplier close to your venue they will have the shortest journey and probably won't charge for travel. We're a string ensemble based in Sussex and we do not charge for travel to weddings in West Sussex, East Sussex and Surrey. We're really happy to travel but bear in mind we will calculate this in our quotes.
